Freight Rates Declining in 2022 – Uncertainties Ahead

Spot rates are on the decline in 2022 and experts are contributing to many frustrating factors from the lasting damage from the pandemic. We are likely to see more

• decreases in sales and inventory
• increasing customer demands
• rising fuel prices
• cargo port jams
• workforce shortages
• increased transportation equipment costs
• consumer and corporate uncertainties
• continued COVID-19 cases & shutdowns

At CanAm we plan to stay the course. We will continue to provide quality logistics operations, work with our carriers and we are setup to ride out the storm. We expect the rates to continue downward for some time, but then expect a new supply chain storm will emerge with the piling up in China with freight tot he US West coast ports again.
